Guide Tube Takahashi GT-50

The objective and body of this small telescope are the same as the 7.5x50 finder, but instead of the finder eyepiece, it is equipped with a GT mount adapter that allows a 31.7 mm diameter telescope to be inserted.

This product mounts on the main objective body, just like the 7.5x50 finder, and inserts and uses a 31.7 mm diameter eyepiece or camera guide.

In recent planetary photography, the optical axes of the main and guide lenses are perfectly parallel, and the image from the guide camera is used as a resolving plate to bring the planet into the field of view of the main objective body.

The GT-50 can be precisely and robustly adjusted, as can the finder, so it can also meet the needs of guide photography. The lens is a two-lens achromatic, designed for optimum visual performance, with a visual Strehl ratio of approximately 70%.

By attaching the TOE-2.5 mm, the magnification increases to approximately 85x, but even in this state, it is so powerful that diffraction rings can be observed on bright stars.

Also, if the magnification of the 7.5x50 finder is not sufficient, you can attach a GT mount adapter and use it as a GT-50 by inserting an eyepiece, which will allow you to use it as a high magnification finder, although it will not have a crosshairs.

When using the guide camera

Only cylindrical cameras that allow the sensor to be fully inserted into the GT mount adapter are compatible. After fine-tuning the focus by inserting the camera, you can rotate the lens barrel to fine-tune the focus.
