Product Details

This accessory with a combination focal reducer and field corrector can be attached to all Schmidt-Cassegrain 5", 8", 9½", 11" and 14" telescopes. This four-element, f/6.3 component allows for a dual focal ratio instrument without sacrificing image quality.

It offers a wide field of view with any Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope. It reduces exposure time by a factor of 3. The results are stunning, both visually and in obtaining astrophotographs. Celestron does not offer a Schmidt-Cassegrain f/6.3 telescope. Such a design is impractical because the need for a large central obstruction would result in a marked loss of contrast. This, coupled with the impossibility of using long focal ratios on certain objects, led Celestron to develop a four-element f/6.3 reducer/corrector. The results are spectacular both visually and photographically.

Essential for deep sky photography. It reduces the focal length, widening the field while correcting it so that stars are spot-on in most of the field of view.
