Oberwerk BT-70XL-ED
The BT-70XL-ED is the most compact model of the renowned Oberwerk XL ED series and the most affordable ED binocular telescope on the market. It features 70 mm FK-61 ED objectives, a 24 mm clear prism aperture and a lightweight magnesium alloy body, fully waterproof and nitrogen purged to prevent internal fogging.
With a focal length of 390mm , it incorporates premium 14mm eyepieces and 8 1.25" elements offering 28x magnification and a wide 70° apparent field of view . These optics deliver sharp, bright, colorless images , and can be magnified up to 56x (with optional 7mm eyepieces) without producing chromatic aberration.
The true field of view is 2.5° and the 18 mm eyepiece distance ensures comfort, even for spectacle wearers. The 2.5 mm exit pupil and 25 meter focusing distance make it ideal for both astronomical and terrestrial observation.
The adjustable focusing distance range (IPD) of 50 to 80 mm, the widest of any binocular telescope, makes it ideal even for children. The top handle with Picatinny rail allows easy attachment of accessories such as spotting scopes or laser pointers.
Aesthetically, the BT-70XL-ED features a Luna Pearl white finish and red anodized accents, making it not only powerful but also visually striking. A rugged aluminum-framed carrying case is included for safe transport and storage.
Each unit is individually collimated and tested to 98x , with certified collimation up to 12 arc seconds, ensuring exceptional alignment and optical performance.
