Camera Celestron Origin 678C CEL95531
New Generation Image Sensor for Celestron Origin - Available in Telescopiomania
Upgrade your system with the latest Sony Starvis 2 technology.
The new Starvis 2 CMOS color sensor offers superior resolution and improved sensitivity, taking the quality of your astrophotography to another level.
Compact Pixels, Brighter Images
Thanks to its tiny 2.0 μm² pixels, the IMX678C sensor achieves higher resolution and optimized light conversion efficiency. The result: sharper, brighter and more detailed images of the faintest objects in the sky telescopiomania.
16:9 Wide Format - Ideal for Mobile Devices
Enjoy a cinematic field of view that fits perfectly on your smartphone or tablet screens. Your images will fill the entire screen, offering a more immersive and modern viewing experience.
Easy, Tool-Free Installation
With clear step-by-step instructions, you can mount your new camera using the adapter and retaining ring from your Celestron Origin. No prior experience is necessary: in just a few minutes, you'll be ready to capture the sky like never before.
More Resolution, More Detail
Although both sensors share the same physical size, the IMX678C uses smaller pixels (2.0 μm² versus 2.4 μm² in the IMX178C), achieving a finer resolution of 1.2 arcseconds per pixel. This allows you to get even closer to celestial objects and reveal details that previously went unnoticed.
Higher Sensitivity, Better Performance
Despite its smaller pixels, the IMX678C is slightly more sensitive than its predecessor, delivering more balanced images with better contrast, especially in dark skies.
New Format and Improved ISO
The IMX678C sensor works with a 16:9 aspect ratio, as opposed to the 3:2 of the IMX178C, ideal for capturing wider areas of the sky and adapting to the telescopiomania landscape mode of your mobile or tablet.
It also features a base ISO of 1000, optimized for a more accurate response to different lighting conditions.
Easily Upgrade to the Celestron Origin 678C Camera
Upgrading is quick and hassle-free. Just remove the old camera, connect the new Celestron Origin 678C with the included adapter and plug it in.
Afterwards, the Origin app will guide you step-by-step to capture the new calibration frames (dark and flat frames) that optimize your sensor for clean and homogeneous images. You can also follow our video tutorial for more convenience.
Telescopiomania tip: For perfect results, we recommend the PrimaLuceLab GIOTTO for Celestron Origin, a flat field generator custom designed for Origin. Connect your own smartphone and get accurate flats with maximum ease.
Give a Second Life to your Origin-178C Camera
Upgrading doesn't mean leaving your current equipment behind. Your Origin-178C camera can still be an excellent choice for lunar or planetary photography. Thanks to its standard M42 T-thread connection, you can easily attach it to other telescopes and continue to expand your astronomical experience.
