Wanderer Eclipse 150mm Motorized Cover - Automatic closing, remote control and dust protection
The Wanderer Eclipse is a motorized protective cover system without integrated flats panel, designed specifically for remote observatories or for astrophotographers who wish to fully automate their equipment, even in portable or travel configurations.
Includes 12V powered stepper motor, ready for immediate installation. The opening is adjustable in several positions and reaches up to 270° of maximum travel, reducing wind resistance when the panel is closed.
A mechanical safety stop prevents excessive opening and ensures that the closure always returns to the position preset by the user.
The Wanderer Eclipse is controlled by its native software and ASCOM drivers, with full compatibility with programs such as N.I.N.A. or Voyager for remote observatory management.

Wanderer Eclipse 150mm Motorized Dust Cover - Automatic locking, remote control and dust protection
The Wanderer Eclipse is a motorized dust cover designed to protect your telescope's optical tube from dust, moisture and spiders, not including an LED flats panel - ideal for remote observatories or fully automated installations.
Outstanding features
-
150mmdiameter: this version covers large apertures, suitable for mid-to-high end telescopes.
-
Lightweight: approximately 200g for the 150mm model, minimizing the load on the tube or mount.
-
Aerospace aluminum construction + carbon fiber cover: a combination that seeks to offer structural strength with light weight.
-
270° opening: allows the cover to move enough to fully expose the optics and also to be positioned to reduce wind resistance when closed.
-
Mechanical stop and obstacle stop: prevents the cover from exceeding set limits and ensures that, in the event of a blockage, it returns to the user's preset position.
-
Remote control and driver compatibility: fully compatible with ASCOM and INDI, and can be controlled from devices such as ZWO ASIAIR Plus or ToupTek StellaVita.
-
Low temperature operating range: according to the manufacturer, it can operate in environments as cold as -25 °C.
-
Standard inputs: USB 2.0 type B interface and 12 V / 2 A DC5521 power supply.
-
Ease of mounting: M3 threaded holes are provided in the base to adapt to custom brackets or truss-type structures.
-
Diameter range: in addition to the 150mm model, the Wanderer Eclipse is available in diameters from 110 to 425 mm, covering a wide variety of optical tubes.
Benefits for remote observatory users or astrophotographers
-
Constant protection of the optics: by being automatically closed when you are not operating, you minimize accumulations of dust or particles that can affect images.
-
Full automation: integrated with common astrophotography software (NINA, Voyager, etc.) via ASCOM/INDI, you can include aperture/shutter in your sequence without manual intervention.
-
Lightweight and efficient: moderate weight does not penalize the system, even on balance-sensitive telescopes.
-
Fail-safe: if the aperture encounters an obstacle, the system detects and reverses, avoiding mechanical damage.
-
Installation versatility: M3 threads and compatibility with different structures allow the Eclipse to be easily adapted to different tubes and configurations.
-
Weather resilience: its design allows operation at low temperatures, ideal for elevated locations or frequent cold nights.
