Equatorial harmonic mount ZWO AM3N with tripod TC40
Why a saddle ZWO AM3N?
AM3N vs AM3
Tired of complicated wiring in your frame?
Tangled cables are not only annoying, they can also damage your astronomical equipment.
Frustrated with heavy equipment on your field trips?
Carrying bulky setups drains your energy even before you start capturing images.
Are you still fighting against star traces and bad tracking?
Missing point stars due to inaccurate guiding ruins the perfect deep sky shot.
Designed for simplicity
Only two wires are sufficient to offer a configuration clean, efficient and fast, which allows you to start capturing images earlier than ever before.
Harmonic gears for precision control
Astrophotography requires stability and accuracy, and the use of a uniquely designed harmonic gear system directly addresses these needs. The geartrain is optimized for minimize periodic error, to offer a movement extremely fluid and ensure a high torque capacity, essential factors for the capture of images of long exposure.
Inside the frame, a harmonic wave reducer works in conjunction with a synchronous belt drive, achieving an extremely precise control and a reduction ratio of 300:1. Each unit is individually tested and is delivered with a periodic error curve (PE) report, the new system provides the user with verified performance data and the necessary peace of mind for each observation session.
Quality control with exclusive PE curve
ZWO individually measures each mount and equips it with an exclusive periodic error (PE) curve before leaving the factory.
In the graph, the x-axis represents the angle of rotation and the y-axis shows the periodic error, which is constantly maintained within a range of ±15 arc seconds, the new system guarantees a professional level of guidance precision.
Integrated Type-C and DC ports for added convenience
The new ZWO AM3N weighs only 4.1 kg, this makes it one of the lightest and most portable harmonic frames in its class. Its optimized design improves both cable management as well as ease of transportation.
The new dovetail clamping system integrates type-C and 12V DC ports, this reduces cable clutter in the setup to a minimum. In addition, it incorporates a magnetic Allen key that attaches directly to the mount, offering convenient storage and always at hand during your observing or astrophotography sessions.
Powerful load capacity: 8 - 13 kg
The mount supports up to 8 kg (17.6 lbs) without counterweights -double its own weight - and even 13 kg (28.7 lbs) with counterweights, i.e., more than three times its weight.
Thanks to this remarkable load capacity, the mount can easily handle a wide range of telescopes, providing a base for a wide range of telescopes stable, reliable and accurate for both visual observation and long exposure astrophotography.
Internal test results
-
Maximum load without counterweight: 8 kg (17.64 lbs) with a maximum output torque of 16 N-m.
-
Compatible counterweight: ≤ 5 kg (11.02 lbs). The maximum load capacity with counterweight reaches 13 kg (28.66 lbs).
-
The counterweight must be attached to a bar up to 25 cm (9.84") in length.
Equatorial Mode / Altazimuthal Mode
The mount can change between equatorial mode y altazimuth mode easily through the application SkyAtlas or through the control knob.

Versatile altitude scale from 0° to 90°
The ZWO AM3N incorporates an altitude adjustment design all terrain, which allows a range of 0° a 90°, facilitating its use in low and high latitude regions without restrictions.
-
Gear 1: Rotate the altitude tension knob to adjust between 0° y 60°.
-
Gear 2: Loosens the M6 hex screw to allow adjustment between 30° y 90°.
This dual gear system offers precision and flexibility in the orientation of the telescope, ensuring fast and stable positioning for any type of observation or astrophotography.
Advanced handheld control with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity
The ZWO AM3N admits bluetooth control, which allows you to operate the frame directly from your smartphone, without the need for manual control.
Functionality Wi-Fi is provided through the Hand Controller, which integrates the Wi-Fi transmitter. This combination makes the mount ideal for travel and field tripsYou just need your phone and you are ready to go observe or capture images quickly and easily.
Wireless control via mobile apps
Operates the mount directly from your smartphone by means of a intuitive app which includes functions such as on-screen joystick, Tonight's Target, GOTO, realtime preview and much more.
The mount is compatible with platforms such as ASCOM, INDI, ASIAIR and others, offering maximum flexibility and control for advanced observation and astrophotography.
Seamless integration with ASIAIR
Enjoy the astrophotography at its best with the ecosystem ZWO, where each component works in perfect harmony, the new software offers smooth control and a more efficient and professional image capture experience.
