Solar projection screen Geoptik, Hossfield pyramid.
Hossefield pyramid + Stonyhurst disks
The Hossefield pyramid is one of the safest and most effective methods of observing the Sun in white light.
This technique, known as solar projection, allows you to see an image of the Sun projected onto a surface by interposing an eyepiece between the telescope objective and the surface.
In this way, sunspots can be easily detected and their evolution studied without risk to eyesight or optical equipment.
With the Hossefield pyramid it is possible to carry out different solar observation programs, among them:
-
Counting and numbering of sunspots.
-
Heliographic orientation of the solar disk.
-
Tracking of the trajectory of sunspots on the Sun's surface.
-
Classification and evolution of sunspots.
-
Structural analysis of the spots and active regions.
The registration and representation of the spots can be complemented with the Stonyhurst disks (included, 8 units), where the observational data obtained each day are transferred.
