The ARTESKY ARTEC 300 is a 300 mm Newtonian astrograph, entirely manufactured in Italy with a meticulous manufacturing process. It uses a quartz F/4 parabolic primary mirror, aluminum coated with a reflectivity higher than 95%. The secondary mirror follows the same process.

Its generous size makes it ideal for fixed observatory installations or high-end mobile configurations, thanks to a mechanical structure that maintains collimation over time.

The ARTEC astrograph series introduces a new concept in telescope design, combining state-of-the-art manufacturing technologies with premium optics manufactured to the highest standards.

Launched in 2011 by Stefano Seveso, founder of Artesky, and developed together with engineer Flavio Simeone, the project seeks to meet the needs of astrophotographers who demand simple and stable collimation, precision optics and reproducible results.

Optical system

All ARTEC astrographs use carefully selected optics that include:

  • Reflectivity > 95%
  • Correction ≥ λ/8
  • Strehl ratio ≥ 0.95

The included 1.14x coma corrector provides a focal length of 1368 mm (f/4.5). Illuminated field is 55 mm, with 41 mm fully illuminated, ideal for large full-frame sensors.

The conical quartz primary mirror ensures exceptional thermal performance by minimizing mass and eliminating lateral shifts, thus optimizing focus stability during long sessions.

Thermal control

The rear of the tube features three quiet 12V fans to accelerate thermal equalization of the mirror.

Attention to detail

All components are assembled by hand in Italy, using polished AISI 316 stainless steel screws for a clean, durable finish. Each unit is thoroughly tested prior to shipment.

Mechanical Design

Made from CNC-machined and laser-cut 6061 aluminum, this design ensures maximum rigidity and collimation retention. Focusing remains sharp over any temperature range, reducing the need for frequent adjustments.

The laser-cut secondary mount, weather-resistant anodization, and bronze, steel and aluminum parts ensure long-term reliability.

Compatibility and focusing system

A wide back focus allows for a wide range of image trains. The 3" PegasusAstro Prodigy microfocuser, specifically adapted for ARTEC, supports up to 9.5 kg without flexing. Its tilt-adjustable base ensures perfect focal plane alignment.

The R.O.A.S. system (On-Axis Rotation System) allows manual rotation with perfect orthogonality of the image train. An M54x0.75 male adapter is included, with custom adapters available.

Carbon fiber tube

Solid carbon tube is manufactured in Italy for the aerospace and automotive industries. Autoclave treated and matte finished, the interior is blackened with a roughened surface to eliminate reflections and resist moisture.
