With the same features and specifications as the TSA-102S, it is equipped with a 120 mm diameter lens and 900 mm focal length (F/7.5), apochromatic design with three glass elements with low dispersion (ED), retractable hood, excellent mechanics and versatility of use, both in visual and photographic use.

In addition, the TSA-120 is extremely lightweight, weighing only 6.7 kilograms, which avoids having to use large and heavy mounts. It can optionally use the same optional accessories as its smaller brother, such as focal reducer (F/5.6), field corrector (F/7.3) and focal extender (1.6x).

Equipped with a 2.7" diameter rack and pinion focuser, 7x50 finder with illuminating reticle, finder mount, optical tube clamp and Ø 2"/1.25" adapter. The tube length is 990 mm and the diameter is 125 mm. Diameter of the lens hood: 160 mm.

The TSA-120 is equipped with a triplet ED apochromatic lens, with air gap, 120 mm diameter (focal length 900 mm and F/D 7.5), mounted on a 3-group barrel. The latter ensures good stability of the optomechanical chain against the usual stresses of transport and significant temperature variations during use. It has a retractable anti-fog shield and the tube length does not exceed 990 mm, with a moderate weight of 6.7 kg.

The lens is designed for a high level of observational and photographic performance. Chromatic aberration at short wavelengths (blue/violet) is reduced by one third compared to that of the older FS-102/FS-128 with fluorite objective. The Strehl ratio at wavelengths optimal for human vision is almost perfect at 99.2 %, equivalent to that of the TOA series.

The TSA-120 is therefore a lightweight, compact and economical telescope whose performance approaches that of the TOA, flagship models from Takahashi and recognized as some of the best in the world.

The incorporation of the optional field corrector allows imaging at native focus. The TOA-35 (F/D 5.25) reducer makes deep sky photography easier. All mounts meet the requirements for rigidity and flexibility of use demanded by new imaging devices such as digital cameras and the latest generation of CCD cameras.
