H-Alpha Sun Observation:
The LS100MT/B1200 is a complete telescope for observing the Sun in H-Alpha light, with 100 mm free aperture (no central obstruction) and 714 mm focal length. The H-Alpha wavelength is the most impressive way to observe the Sun. It allows you to see bumps on the edge of the Sun, filaments and flares on the surface, and much more. Focusing is by means of a rugged 2-inch R&P eyepiece focuser with 1:10 reduction.
The locking filter is the B1200. The B1200 is well suited for Sun observation and also for solar photography with cameras with small sensor chips. For cameras with large sensor chips, we recommend an LS100MT with B1800 or B3400 blocking filter.
The diagonal mirror in which the blocking filter is installed is equipped as standard with an eyepiece holder for 1.25 inch eyepieces and a T2 connection for cameras.
Also for night sky observation:
Thanks to its modular design, the H-Alfa Etalon system can be removed from the telescope in just a few steps. With the optionally available conversion kit (article number 0551430) the apochromatic 3-lens refractor can be used as a normal telescope with 100 mm aperture and 714 mm focal length for starry night sky observation and photography. The FPL-53 Triplet lens provides an excellent image with high color purity. Ordinary 2-inch diagonal mirrors can be used in the excellent quality R&P focus of the 0551430 conversion kit.
Please note that the optional conversion kit 0551430 is a must if the telescope is to be used at night as well.

- Observing the Sun in white light
Of course, by removing the H-Alpha unit and attaching the 0551430 conversion kit, one of the solar filters that are installed in front of the objective, or a Herschel prism in the eyepiece focuser can be used to observe sunspots in white light.
- Observing the Sun in the Ca-K wavelength
Of course, the Ca-K filter modules from LUNT Solar Systems can also be used on the LS100MT to observe and photograph supergranules and other effects on the Sun visible at this wavelength.
The LS100MT is therefore a top-quality apochromatic telescope for universal use.
