The Baader 2" Cool-Ceramic Safety Herschel Prism Mark II - Visual Version is undoubtedly one of the most advanced and safest systems for white light solar observing with refracting telescopes. Its optical and mechanical design allows to reach very high magnifications without loss of quality, offering extraordinarily sharp and contrasted images of the Sun, revealing details such as granulation, penumbras, umbras and facies with exceptional precision.
This prism incorporates an innovative rotation mechanism for polarizing filters, the most effective method for regulating brightness during solar observation.

The prism operates with only 4.6% of the incident light, which is then reduced to safe levels by the included ND 3.0 filter. The remaining energy is evacuated in a controlled manner through the heat trap.
