The Sky-Watcher Esprit 100EDX Sky -Watcher Optical Tube is designed for the advanced amateur astronomer seeking performance equivalent to professional equipment. Thanks to its unique apochromatic triplet design with high quality ED glass (Hoya, Japan), it delivers sharp, high contrast images with no chromatic aberrations. This premium optical system guarantees exceptional quality for both observation and deep sky photography.
Superior optical quality
The use of high-transmission multilayer coatings reduces light loss, resulting in brighter and more contrasted images than conventional optical tubes. The Metallic High-Transmission Coating (MHTC) applied to the air-to-crystal surfaces achieves a transmission of close to 99.5%, ensuring the highest quality. With a 100 mm aperture, the Esprit 100EDX collects 56% more light than 80 mm models, greatly increasing its ability to capture faint details in nebulae and galaxies.
Optional corrector/flattener
To take full advantage of its aperture and f/5.5 focal ratio, it has an optional screw-in field corrector, which minimizes bending and provides a perfectly flat field up to a 40 mm image circle. Its oversized lenses (48 mm) prevent internal reflections and ensure a wide and uniform aperture, ideal for deep sky astrophotography.
Linear Power 3" focusing system
The Sky-Watcher Linear Power is a high-quality eyepiece holder designed for astrophotography. With a 3" (76 mm) entrance, it is robust and precise thanks to its 11:1 reduction system. The sliding tube incorporates a steel rail with 4 ball bearings, ensuring smooth,shifting-free focusing. The system includes a graduated scale for repeatable focus positions, a locking thread to secure the focus and a 360° rotating eyepiece carrier that allows for optimizing the framing without altering the precision.
Solid construction and careful design
The optical tube is made entirely of steel, CNC machined with high precision. No plastic parts are used, ensuring maximum strength and stability. The inside of the tube is black anodized and beveled to reduce stray light. Includes two wide collars and a dovetail type Losmandy for firm and secure mounting.
