In everyday astrophotography, users often experience unsatisfactory image results because the focuser or camera sensor is not flat. As sensor sizes increase, the need for greater precision in adjustments increases. Users need to ensure that the focal plane is perpendicular to the optical axis of the system.

The focal plane adjuster Askar helps to make precise adjustments to the tilt of the focuser or camera sensor, improving image quality.

Currently, the most common focal plane adjusters use a three-point push-pull mechanism. By adjusting the tilt angle, the relative distance between the two ends changes, which will affect the subsequent focus, thus impacting the quality of the stars at the edges of the image.The focal plane adjuster Askar uses a unique spherical adjustment design. This method adjusts the tilt angle without affecting the relative distance, ensuring more accurate and consistent adjustments.

The Askar focal plane adjuster is easy to use, requiring no additional tools, and also eliminates the need for repeated disassembly and adjustment when attaching a camera or other necessary accessory. For added convenience, simply rotate the handle to adjust the tilt angle.

The front thread of the focal plane adjuster Askar is a female M54 and the rear thread is a male M48. The package includes an M54 to M48 adapter to convert the front M54 thread to the M48 thread without affecting the overall thickness, offering a wider range of use.

The overall thickness of the focal plane adjuster Askar is 18mm, which is the same as the thickness of the M48 filter threaded ring at the rear end of the reducer on some Sharpstar Optics telescopes. Users with specific Sharpstar telescopes (e.g. APO series, ASKAR V, 71F, 50EDPH) can directly replace the filter threaded ring with the Focal Plane Adjuster Askar without the need to recalculate the back focus.

The Focal Plane Adjuster Askar offers a ±1° angle adjustment range and is printed with 5′each scale for easy adjustment.
