The ASKAR Ultra E filter, as the name implies, has the ability to control the "Ultra" halo. During the research and development process of the filter, we optimized its design. Finally, it became a special filter with a bandwidth of 3 nm and a bandwidth above 3 nm.
When photographing deep sky galaxies with color cameras, a dual narrow-band filter is usually used in the Hα and OⅢ bands; while with a monochrome camera, a narrow-band filter is usually used in the Hα, SⅡ and OⅢ bands, which prevents color camera users from seeing a band of nebula detail. This can be compensated for with the ASKAR ColourMagic Ultra E2 (OⅢ+SⅡ) dual narrowband filter mentioned above.
The ASKAR ColourMagic Ultra E2 Duo (OⅢ+SⅡ) narrow band filter features ultra-high transmittance of over 85 % at its center wavelength (500.7 nm and 672 nm). It effectively enhances image contrast, facilitating the visualization of star details that would otherwise be difficult to detect. In areas with high light pollution, this filter also selectively filters out light pollution and distorted signals through the nebula's emission lights to achieve the ideal photographic effect.
