The Series-5 focuser is a large capacity focuser designed for use in Alt/Az or equatorial mount systems.
The focuser is capable of lifting 40 lbs (18 kg) and has a 16.5 mm (16,500 micron) travel.
The Series-5 focuser can be stacked with the Series-5 rotator to provide a complete focusing and rotation solution (with a total occupied backfocus of 2.78″).
Occupies only 1.675″ of backfocus.
Controlled by PWI3 software for autofocus and optional field derotation (when used in an Alt/Az mounted system).
Requires Series-5 controller.
Compatible with CDK700, CDK24, CDK20, CDK17, CDK14, CDK12.5, DeltaRho 350 and 500.
Rotator and focuser sold separately.

The Series-5 focuser has a 5″ clear aperture and a thickness of only 1.675″. This focuser is capable of lifting 40 lbs (18 kg) and has a travel of 16.51 mm (16,510 microns).
In designing the new DeltaRho 350, we also wanted to develop a new focuser and rotator that would bring even more flexibility to our systems. The goal was to create a focussing and rotator system that is faster, more robust and has a slimmer profile than the IRF90. Our new stackable Series-5 focuser and rotator have accomplished just that for users of our CDK700 and smaller models. Both the focuser and rotator offer a 5" clear aperture and are designed to stack in configurations that require de-rotation. For those needing focusing capabilities only, the new focuser also takes up less backfocus, leaving more room for optical train components.

The Series-5 focuser requires the Series-5 controller.

Install PlaneWave Interface 3 from the Downloads page [Downloads]. Also make sure you have the latest version of the ASCOM platform installed on your computer.
