Planetary Camera ZWO ASI676MM Monochrome
All-Sky Camera
Introducing the ASI676MC/MM, an all-sky camera equipped with a 1/1.6" square image sensor and a high resolution of 12 MP. It is specially designed for meteor detection and all-sky surveillance. Its square format facilitates composition and makes the creation of mosaics easier and more efficient, while its high resolution allows you to obtain sharp details of the Sun and Moon. With this camera you can start your exploration of the night sky in its full scope.

ASI676MC / MM Highlights

why square format?
One of the main advantages of the ASI676MC/MM 's square format is that it greatly simplifies mosaic construction, as it eliminates the need to take into account the differences between the long and short sides of the sensor during the image stitching process.
In addition, the square format makes the ASI676MC/MM more compatible with different types of lenses, such as fisheye and wide-angle lenses. This makes the ASI676MC/MM particularly suitable for applications such as meteor detection and full sky surveillance.

STARVIS 2
STARVIS is a sensor technology developed by Sony that exceeds the sensitivity of the human eye. STARVIS 2 represents an evolution of this technology, offering an even greater dynamic range.
Thanks to this technology, the ASI676MC/MM features lower read noise and dark current, along with significantly improved sensitivity in the near-infrared spectrum.

256 MB DDR3
The camera is equipped with a USB 3.0 transmission interface and an internal 256 MB DDR3 cache memory, which ensures stable and secure data transmission.

No Amp Glow
The ASI676MC/MM has no amp glow, regardless of the exposure duration or gain value set.
Note: this technology is implemented directly at the hardware level and does not require software control.

HCG mode
The camera incorporates a built-in HCG (High Conversion Gain) mode, which effectively reduces read noise at high gains. This allows the camera to maintain a high dynamic range, similar to that at low gain.
When the gain reaches 180, the HCG mode is automatically activated. In this mode, read noise is reduced to 0.56 e-, and the dynamic range can still reach a level close to 11 steps.

Quantum efficiency
The quantum efficiency (QE) curve and readout noise are key parameters for evaluating the performance of a camera. Higher quantum efficiency and lower read noise are critical to improve the signal-to-noise ratio of the image.

ASI676MM
Dark current noise
The ASI676MC/MM 's low dark current noise enables higher image signal-to-noise ratios, especially when shooting low-light objects, resulting in sharper images.

Coated window
The ASI676MC is equipped with a UV/IR coated window in front of the sensor, with a diameter of 21 mm and a thickness of 1.1 mm. This window effectively reduces infrared interference and improves image quality.

AR protective filter
The ASI676MM camera incorporates a protective filter with anti-reflection (AR) coating in front of the sensor, with a diameter of 21 mm and a thickness of 1.1 mm. This filter protects the sensor from external damage and improves light transmission from the near-ultraviolet to the near-infrared spectrum.
