ESATTO 3": all-in-one robotic focuser for advanced astrophotography

The ESATTO 3" is a high precision robotic focuser designed for a wide range of telescopes, such as large aperture refractors, Ritchey-Chrétien and Cassegrain. It has been developed specifically for astrophotography, where mechanical stability, precision and focus repeatability are critical.

Thanks to ESATTO's proprietary technologies PrimaLuceLabeSATTO integrates wireless WiFi control through the Virtual HandPad function, which allows the focuser to be operated directly from a smartphone or tablet, without the need for external controllers or additional physical controls. The entire electronic system is integrated into the focuser itself, eliminating unnecessary cables and simplifying assembly to the maximum.

ESATTO is a true all-in-one focuser, combining mechanical robustness, advanced electronics and modern connectivity in a compact and solid design, intended to withstand demanding optical trains and high-level astrophotography sessions.

Larger diameter for maximum free opening and load capacity

Compared to the 2" ESATTO model, the 3" ESATTO offers a significantly larger free aperture(76 mm vs. 51 mm), making it the ideal choice for demanding astrophotography with large-diameter apochromatic refractors as well as Ritchey-Chrétien and Cassegrain telescopes.

This large free aperture allows unrestricted work with large format cameras and complex optical trains including off-axis guiding, filter wheels, adaptive optics and other heavy accessories. It also facilitates the use of focal reducers and large-diameter field correctors, minimizing vignetting and maintaining an optimal light cone.

The specific mechanical design of the ESATTO 3", based on a Crayford system with 28 bearings, not only ensures smooth and precise movement, but also allows a real load capacity of up to 8 kg to be achieved, without flexing or loss of alignment, even in heavy weight configurations.

Maximum performance in a robotic focuser

The 3" ESATTO integrates all the advanced features that define the ESATTO range, delivering reliable and consistent performance in both fixed and remote configurations.

It allows direct connection to a Windows PC or EAGLE system via a robust and reliable USB-C port. Thanks to the included cable, it can be connected to any type of USB port, ensuring compatibility and communication stability even during long sessions.

The system is controlled by dedicated software with ASCOM driver, ensuring full integration with the main astrophotography programs on the market. It has been tested in Windows 10 environments, offering stable and predictable operation.

In addition, ESATTO can be operated remotely via WiFi through the dedicated Virtual HandPad application, allowing focus control without the need for a computer, a particularly practical advantage both for visual observation and for portable or remote setups.

Wide range of adapters for telescopes and cameras

A high-level focuser is only really effective if it guarantees a solid and perfectly aligned connection to the camera. For this reason, the ESATTO 3" dispenses with the classic 2" visual eyepiece holder and adopts an M81x1 male thread, specifically designed for direct and rigid connections in astrophotography.

Through a complete range of optional camera adapters with stop ring, ESATTO allows most DSLR, mirrorless and cooled CCD or CMOS astronomical cameras to be attached directly to the focuser, without intermediate elements that can introduce bending or misalignment.

The stop ring allows the camera to be locked at an exact angle, facilitating precise framing of the subject to be photographed and keeping the optical axis perfectly centered. These adapters are available in multiple threads and lengths, ensuring maximum compatibility and rigidity regardless of the equipment used.

In addition, specific adapters are available for connecting the ESATTO 3" to a wide variety of telescopes, ensuring precise and professional mechanical integration in every configuration.

Direct connection to ARCO: camera rotation and field de-rotation with a single cable

The 3" ESATTO incorporates a dedicated port for ARCO, the camera rotator and field de-rotator of PrimaLuceLabthis allows the two devices to be connected directly to each other, without the need for additional USB or power cables.

Using ARCO, it is possible to remotely control the camera's rotation angle, facilitating precise framing of the object to be photographed, which is especially useful in deep-sky astrophotography and remote setups. In addition, when using an altazimuth mount, ARCO allows for field de-rotation, eliminating the need for an equatorial wedge.

ESATTO and ARCO have been designed to work as an integrated system, so that only a single short interconnecting cable is required between the two devices. The result is a cleaner, more reliable and professional installation, with fewer points of failure and significantly easier cable management.
