Telescope Takahashi Dall-Kirkham MEWLON-180C
Takahashi Mewlon-180C - Dall-Kirkham telescope compact, precise and with λ/20 optics
The Takahashi Mewlon-180C is the most compact and transportable model of the Mewlon series, designed according to the Dall-Kirkham optics, a perfect combination for planetary, lunar and high-resolution astrophotography observation.
This reflecting telescope incorporates a concave elliptical primary mirror and a convex spherical secondary mirror, offering excellent optical correction and guaranteed image quality with an accuracy of λ/20, resulting in superior contrast and pinpoint stars even at high magnifications.
With a focal length of 2160 mm and a focal ratio of f/12, the Mewlon-180C is optimized for planetary and lunar observation, but its versatility makes it equally valid for deep sky. Focusing is by translation of the primary mirror, with a precise, robust, backlash-free mechanism that allows smooth adjustment even with heavy cameras.
The optical tube is 625 mm long and 210 mm in diameter, with a weight of only 6.2 kg, making it ideal for use in medium-sized mounts without the need for heavy or complex equipment. Thanks to its adjustable 6x30 finder, which also doubles as a carrying handle, mounting and alignment are quick and convenient.
It includes two dovetails type Vixen (one male and one female), compatible with a wide variety of mounts on the market.
With the optional Mewlon M-FLRD reducer, the telescope can work at 1760 mm (f/9.8), with an image circle of 30 mm, improving compatibility with modern astronomical camera sensors and expanding photographic possibilities.
